Motorists should avoid traveling on the freeways to keep the roads clear for emergency vehicles and evacuating residents, authorities said.
The three major San Diego County freeways affected by the October fires were all open to traffic as of Thursday morning.
Interstates 5, 15 and 8 were all open to traffic for the first time in five days.
A number of road closures remained in effect across the county. Below is a partial list of closures. Check back for updates.
•In Oceanside all residents are being asked to stay off major roadways and to stay indoors, avoid cell phone usage and use of 911 unless you have an emergency.
•Off ramps from North Bound/South Bound I-15 to West Bernardo Drive/Pomerado Road are being closed again. No Traffic will be allowed through, according to the California Highway Patrol.
•At North Bound I-15 at Rancho Bernardo residents are not being allowed access north of Rancho Bernardo.
•Rancho Bernardo will be opening an information map at Rancho Bernardo Community Park for all residents with questions.
Now you can always check for on the web here for any evacuation centers. You can bring that up and check for available places you may want to go to. There will be directions as well. And also don't forget any of the web news channels 8, 10, & 39. Just bring those websites up and you will know which roads are closed or open and you will know what to do.
