Interpreter Certifications
All interpreters used by DCS's interpreting service, both staff interpreters and independent contractors who work with us, are certified by one or more of the three national interpreter certification groups: ACCI (American Consortium of Certified Interpreters: www.acci-iap.org), NAD (National Association of the Deaf: www.nad.org ), and RID (National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf: www.rid.org ). All of our interpreters are certified at ACCI/NAD level 3 or higher, or the equivalent.
Certified interpreters, in addition to demonstrating their skills and proficiency level, are required to observe a professional code of ethics for sign language interpreters, and to maintain their competence through regular participation in continuing education and skill development programs.
